We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Academic Coordinator to join our team. It is an exciting opportunity to join a committed and dynamic team, working in a fast-paced environment. Your personality, attitude and teaching approach are all important qualities in making this role a success.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Teach a minimum of 15 hours per week
  • Provide academic support and advice to teachers
  • Cover classes as necessary
  • Observe teachers as directed and provide feedback to the DoS on teaching quality
  • Participate in the peer observation programme, encouraging best practice in teaching
  • Manage attendance registers so attendance meets statutory regulations
  • Process exam applications and liaise between students and exam centres
  • Address students’ exam-related queries
  • Play a key role in new student induction, including conducting placement testing of new students and all aspects of preparation
  • Carry out a weekly stocktake of coursebooks and update the stocktake spreadsheet
  • Maintain, organise, and develop supplementary material resources
  • Ensure the teachers’ room and academic office are well maintained & tidy
  • Spotcheck class folders and give feedback to the DoS on any issues that are identified
  • Publish weekly objectives for the week ahead
  • Make yourself available to answer student queries & questions in the Academic Office and via email as scheduled by the ADoS
  • Attend weekly finishers and new starters feedback and pass any academic feedback onto the DoS


  • A level 7 degree
  • ACELS accredited EFL qualification (CELT/ Cambridge CELTA / Trinity TESOL qualification)
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland
  • 2 years + teaching experience at all levels 


  • Flexibility around teaching additional classes if required
  • Higher qualification such as DELTA / MA TESOL
  • Proficiency in a 2nd language
