General Manager

London - General Manager - Full Time

Delfin English School is looking to recruit for a full-time General Manager for our London School. We are looking for an enthusiastic team leader to manage our busy language school with approximately 20 staff, so the successful candidate will need to have excellent organizational skills, ability to communicate and people manage. This position would ideally suit someone with previous industry experience, but candidates who have the required qualifications and motivation to grow into the position will also be considered. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Run the day to day operations of the London school  
  • Support SMT to achieve Delfin revenue and profitability targets 
  • Deliver a high quality of customer service
  • Overall local management responsibility for full time staff 
  • Actively process enquiries and bookings, support local sales activity 
  • Prepare reports and lead Operations meetings – daily, weekly and monthly 
  • Support the Academic, Sales and Marketing and Finance teams. 
  • Manage all 3rd party relationships 
  • Schedule and participate in rotas including reception, emergency phone & bank holiday cover 
  • Lead student induction weekly
  • Manage and design the local social calendar 
  • Attend weekly student feedback sessions and maximize course extensions 
  • Assist Finance department with Debt collection from students and agency 
  • Ensure sufficient supply of all Accommodation types year-round, including summer   
  • Adherence to the School’s policies and procedures


  • Bachelor’s degree minimum level 7 
  • Minimum 5 years’ continuous management experience of a team of 5+ 
  • Fluent in English with excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Effective time management, strong attention to detail and ability to multi task 
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) 
  • Eligible to work in the UK 


  • Previous experience in the industry
  • A second language
  • Previous experience with British Council inspections

Working Hours: Monday - Friday 09.00 - 18.00

Salary: Commensurate with experience
